About Annabel W

Annabel started learning the saxophone at the age of eight, when she first heard the Pink Panther theme tune and was determined to play it.
Annabel taught secondary music for 5 years, and the saxophone for two years. She has a Grade 8 Distinction (ABRSM) in Saxophone and Grade 5 Distinction (ABRSM) in Music Theory. Her final recital included pieces listed above diploma level, and she strives to maintain a high standard of playing, but also continually challenges herself by playing in different styles.

Annabel loves playing in pop, rock, jazz and blues styles, and is officially trained in Classical and contemporary saxophone. She gained a 2:1 degree in Music and Theatre at The University of Hull, performing in the Hull University Orchestra, wind band and big band, and in her second year set up the saxophone choir.
After teaching secondary for two years she moved to Valencia, Spain, and was asked to join 50s Rock’n’Roll band Red Clyde and the Bonnies whilst teaching secondary Music and Drama in a British school. Returning to the UK in 2017, Annabel now teachers primary and secondary woodwind in South Yorkshire, wanting to teach her instrument more specifically. She continues to maintain high quality playing by rehearsing & performing with the Langsett Dance Orchestra.
