Daniel teaches beginners through to advanced level pianists and all genres of music, including anything that inspires his student's to play.

Lessons with Daniel will be tailored to the individual needs of different students. They will be focused on learning but also fun and enjoyable, as Daniel has excellent personable skills and an friendly outgoing personality. He will inspire his students to practice by demonstrating the power that music has when studied and when new skills on an instrument are acquired and developed. It is an extremely rewarding hobby or career, for anyone who takes on the challenge, and he will endeavour to convey this message.

Lessons will have a section focusing on technique and scales, which Daniel considers to be vitally important for all pianists' technical ability, and then a second focus on the pieces the student has chosen to learn or that have been provided by him. Daniel focuses on skills such as improving intonation, accuracy and the feeling or expression used in the music. These skills all help a student to become a well-rounded pianist. At the end of the lesson Daniel explains what needs to be practised before the next lesson, to help the student continually improve.

Daniel teaches most styles including classical music, however his specialist genres are jazz and blues. This means students can learn how to read music, and also learn improvisational techniques to an advanced level. Students can choose to have lessons on how to play jazz standards and improvise over chord changes, or on classical pieces, better sight reading ability, theory, grades, and any musical pieces students just want to learn such as modern pop tunes.

First lessons with Daniel would include a longer discussion than others, as required, to determine...
