Dan is a music tutor with a first class honours degree in Musical Arts, and he is currently studying for a Masters Degree in Music Performance. He has a wealth of experience in teaching cornet and other brass instruments to students at all levels and ages. Dan offers a warm, encouraging learning environment where there is always clear, open communication and a great balance between working hard and having lots of fun!

Brass Teaching
Dan teaches brass instruments from beginners to advanced students of all ages.

Brass lessons with Dan include:
- Technique - from basic through to advanced
- Muscle, breathing and relaxation exercises
- Musical expression and performance
- Music reading, theory and sight-reading
- If desired, preparation for graded examinations

Teaching in Guitar and Ukulele
Dan also teaches guitar and ukulele to beginners students of all ages.

First lesson
Before the first lesson, Dan will make sure he understands the student’s needs and will provide a rough outline of how the lesson will proceed. The lesson will begin with a brief chat and will then run at a pace that works for the student. Dan always takes a starting point in the student's own wishes and needs and it’s very important that his students feel comfortable and at ease in order for the best learning to happen. Dan is a skilled tutor and is able to tailor repertoire and teaching style to best fit the individual.

Beginners
Beginners of all ages are most welcome to learn with Dan. Dan believes that anyone can learn music and his teaching has a proven track record of unlocking students’ potentials.
