About Jessica N
Jessica is a professional soprano, choral conductor and vocal coach, with a Diploma in Singing Performance from ABRSM and a Masters in choral conducting from the University of Birmingham. She has sung in multiple BBC Proms concerts and is the featured soprano in Wanstead’s annual opera gala “Glamour on the Green”. She also sings solo for choirs across London and beyond, such as Ealing Common Choir and Harwich and Dovercourt Choral Society.
Knowledgeable about vocal technique, Jessica has run technique workshops with a variety of choirs, schools and organisations over the years, including the East London Chorus, and the London Symphony Chorus. Her passion for music began at an incredibly young age as she tried out as many instruments as possible, but singing was one interest that continued throughout her education and career, alongside passing on her love of singing to others.
Teaching in Vocals
Jessica teaches singing from beginners to advanced students aged 10 and up. In lessons you will work on:
- Breathing and breath control
- Releasing tension
- Tongue positioning
- Vowel production
- Trusting your voice
Jessica will start lessons with tongue exercises as well as vocal warm ups, and a lot of theory/explanation will be included, but she will base this on songs and really get you putting information into practice as soon as possible. As the lessons go on more aspects of singing technique will be introduced until it is all becoming second nature. There are exercises and techniques that are very standard but no lesson is a ‘typical’ lesson; Jessica plans lessons based on the individual and what they want to learn, as well as the basics that are needed.
Teaching in Piano
Jessica is Grade 8 piano and teaches beginners from age 10 up. Piano lessons include:
- Note reading
- Rhythm exercises
- Musical expression
- Jessica specialises in classical piano.
During the first lesson you will have a discussion with Jessica about what you would like to learn and what your experience has been up to now.
Teaching in Music Theory
Jessica also teaches music theory for beginners, working through the basics of harmony, rhythm and timbre.

Jessica specialises in Classical Music and is experienced in taking, upon request, her students through graded examinations.
