About Joseph M
Joseph is an experienced tutor and graduate of music from the University of Liverpool. He is a fully trained saxophonist and sound engineer, but he gains a great deal of his knowledge from working in the music industry as a performer and sound designer. In his own project studio in the Liverpool city centre, Joseph offers a relaxed and welcoming environment to not only provide a great teaching experience but also a whole lot of fun playing and producing!
Teaching in Saxophone
Joseph teaches Saxophone from beginners to advanced students of all ages.
Saxophone lessons with Joseph can include:

Joseph teaches music production from beginners to advanced students.

- Understanding musical software (Pro-Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton)
- Recording sound
- Microphone placement and techniques
- Mixing music (EQ, Compression, etc.)
- Using MIDI instruments
- How to create music in different genres
- Digital notation in Sibelius (depending on student preference)
- Resources for students to practise themselves
- Learning in a real, functioning project studio
Teaching in Keyboard
Joseph teaches modern and classical piano/keyboard to beginner students only.
Keyboard lessons include:
- Notation reading
- Finger techniques and scales
- Sight-reading skills
- Theory for classical and popular music
- Understanding lead sheets for jazz and pop
- Chord charts for pop music
- ABRSM grade preparation (classical 1-4)
- Resources for students to practise themselves
