Katie is a peripatetic singing and flute teacher and a graduate from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She is an enthusiastic and outgoing teacher who has several years of experience in teaching singing and flute to students at all levels and at all ages. She has helped many students work towards exams, concerts and performances. She is always on the look out to find new and innovative activities for her students and aims to adapt to the individual needs of the student. She believes no one student is the same and therefore each of her students will receive a lesson tailored to their needs and methods of learning.

Teaching in Vocals
Katie teaches vocals for beginners and advanced of all ages.

Vocal lessons with Katie include:
- Warm up exercises to strengthen singing technique
- Muscular relaxation, breathing and support exercises
- Musical expression and performance skills
- Pitch, rhythm and tone quality exercises
- Use of text and diction in songs to enhance the student’s creativity and story telling.

Teaching in Flute
Katie teaches flute for beginners and advanced students of all ages.

Flute lessons include:
- Scales and arpeggios
- Note reading/ sight reading
- Rhythm exercises
- Musical expression
- Techniques to improve tone quality and air flow

Genres
Katie teaches (almost) all genres, specialising in Classical, musical theatre and pop.

First lesson
Katie always takes a starting point in the student's own wishes and needs. For Katie it is important that the students feel heard and well adapted with the choice of both repertoires and teaching methods. In the first lesson, she will also enquire as to what the pupil wishes to achieve and work towards so that a clear goal is set.

Beginners
