About Marguerite W
Marguerite is a violinist studying as a postgraduate at the Royal Academy of Music. She graduated with a first class degree in music history, theory and harmony from Oxford University. Marguerite loves engaging with all aspects of a musical education and thinks that the fostering of a good musical intuition perfectly compliments technical expertise!
Marguerite is an experienced violin and music theory teacher and has taught a range of pupils from beginners to those taking their diploma exams; young children to adults. She has a specific interest in early music, but enjoys all classical styles and can be flexible and adapt to the needs and interests of her students.
Marguerite would begin the first lesson by finding out the student's musical goals, and creating a plan for us to achieve them. She often begins a first violin lesson without sheet music, helping the student perfect a short tune or phrase as she believes that often students get bogged down with what is on the page rather than trusting their eyes and ears.
For beginners and children one should expect to buy educational materials for the lessons.
Please feel free to write to Marguerite if you are interested in lessons, or if you have any questions.
