About Matthew

Singer, Musician and Actor with extensive teaching experience in one to one lessons, stage schools and choirs.
- MA (Music Theatre) Royal Central School Of Speech and Drama
- Bmus(Hons) Birmingham Conservatoire
- Grade 8 Violin and Grade 5 Music Theory

I believe in a positive but firm style of teaching, always aiming to inspire students to take ownership of their practice time and their growing love of music. I have a lot of stage experience as a musician and also as a singer, having performed in various styles including classical, musical theatre and pop around the UK and around the world and wish to bring this energy and passion to others.

I have loved music and performing ever since I was 8 when I began my own violin lessons. Music formed the core of much of my younger years, performing in orchestras and string ensembles. I've always believed that a keen ear and passion for also listening to music can help greatly improve everyone's musical journey. This lead me on to train in Birmingham and later London and develop my singing skills. I believe it is never too late to focus and build up a good technique in your desired skill, I didn't start singing until my early 20s and now I am a professional performer.

Matthew offers various styles of singing, but is focussed mostly on Musical Theatre or Pop Singing, He does not teach Opera.
