About Nick B

Nick grew up in London and has been playing saxophone since he was 15 with a number of ensembles, including the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, local Symphonic Bands, Orchestras and Big Bands. He left London at age 18 to study a BA in Music, specialising in Jazz performance at Leeds College of Music. Nick has played in a range of original projects since, and has toured the UK, most of mainland Europe, Australia and New Zealand as a result, with the music varying from jazz to live dance and electronic music. He has also performed at festivals such as Bestival, Boomtown and Subsonic (Australia), as well as venues like Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club and the 606 Club in London.

For many years, Nick has been teaching saxophone and music theory, with his students ranging in age and ability. He has helped them achieve a number of musical goals, from taking grades and university auditions, to the casual player looking for a more relaxed playing environment. Aside from instrumental technique and theory, Nick has a lot of knowledge about the industry, live sound engineering, production and the education system, which makes him an ideal teacher for anyone from the absolute beginner right through to the advanced player seeking more of a mentor than an instrumental coach.
