Ruifan is a highly experienced piano tutor who is currently studying a performance degree at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. She began teaching 7 years ago and has gained extensive knowledge and a wide range of skills to successfully teach children and adults of all levels and ages. Ruifan has experience teaching children with disabilities, most recently working at schools with children who have autism. An important part of her teaching is to always make sure every student feels as comfortable and relaxed as possible in each lesson, so that they can learn and play at their best. As a teacher, Ruifan offers a positive, encouraging, warm and professional learning environment and is committed to being trustful, honest and having open communication with all of her students. Ruifan enjoys helping her students to set musical goals based on what the individual wants and hopes that they will enjoy their journey with music and achieve their goals through fun learning.

First lesson
Before the first lesson, Ruifan will make sure she fully understands the student’s needs and will provide a rough outline of how the lessons will proceed. The lesson will begin with a brief chat so that her and her student can get to know each other, allowing for a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere in the lesson. Ruifan will structure the lesson differently for each student individually based on how each student doing. Ruifan always takes a starting point in the student's own wishes and it’s essential that her students feel happy and at ease in order for the best learning to happen! Ruifan is a skilled tutor and is able to tailor repertoire and teaching style to best fit the individual.

Beginners
