About William M

William is a highly experienced Music Tutor specialising in Singing. His approach is distinctive by being both technical and flexible, to the maximum benefit of his students. William completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Classical Performance Singing at the New Zealand School of Music, focussed on opera, after earlier training in choral and early music singing. William works as a professional singer, performing in operas, concerts, and choirs, and as a professional choral conductor, where he gets to flex his musical muscle and coach singing to large numbers of people as well as individuals. As a result, he has a well trained teaching ear, an excellent understanding of music and technique, and a passion for music. William offers an encouraging learning environment, where the passion and potential of the student is of foremost importance. William is also available to teach in students homes in Yeovil and Taunton.

Genre

First lesson
First lessons are exciting! Before the first lesson starts, it's important that William knows why students are coming for lessons – what their passion is, and what they are looking for help with. At a first lesson, William will do his best to make students comfortable – he knows how nerve racking a first lesson can be! Then students can expect to do some simple exercises to test their ears and get their voices moving before singing something they like, so William can see how they identify as performers. Using this information, William and the student will establish a plan for the next few lessons.
