About Florin B
If you are looking for a patient, fun, professional and highly qualified music tutor then look no further than Florin! She is an accomplished musician and singer-songwriter, with a BA(Hons) in Jazz Vocals from Leeds College of Music. She was trained throughout her formative years in classical voice, piano and musical theatre, competing in many nationwide competitions including the David Clover festival of singing. Florin has set up several projects performing in a range of styles, including jazz standards and her own original compositions; she has also worked in other genres such as pop, folk, blues, soul and classical.
Florin’s music lessons aim to bring the best out of all of her students. Every lesson is tailor-made to the individual’s ability and pace as she passes on her love and passion for music.
Singing Lessons
Florin teaches from beginners to advanced students from age 7 and up. She creates a relaxed environment for her students as they embark on their musical journey. Florin is able to put forward her students for ABRSM and Trinity graded music exams. Her methods encourage her students to find their own voice, alongside teaching the best practise and routines for a healthy voice.
Singing lessons with Florin will include:
- Warm up and vocal health
- Breathing exercises and understanding the connection between the body and the voice
- Vocal technique, performance, tone, intonation, rhythm and improvisation
- Applying music theory to repertoire
- Creating a listening library, analysing other performers and their technique
- Live performance coaching, working on stage presence and confidence
- Studying a variety of genres
Piano Lessons
Florin teaches beginner to intermediate students from age 7 and up.
Piano lessons with Florin include:
- Flash notes to encourage quicker note recognition
- Correct posture and hand positioning
- Warming up with scales and arpeggios
- Learning pieces that the student enjoys
- Option of taking grades with ABRSM or Trinity exam boards
- Listening to different pianists in different genres and exploring the sounds of the piano
