About George T

George is an enthusiastic and passionate musician with a heart for the arts, he has been playing music constantly since the age of 12 and has achieved a first-class degree in music. Performing drums in a variety of group and ensembles ranging from orchestras and big bands to jazz trios and percussion groups, whilst currently performing in a function band for weddings and private events he has gained a lot of performing experience that has influenced his teaching and ability to support his pupils in their musical endeavours.

Teaching Drums
George teaches drumkit for all ages and abilities. A normal drum lesson with George may include:
- Time developing technique, from beginner to advanced
- Warm-up and rhythm exercises, music games and activities
- Musical expression and performance
- Time working on a song or piece of music

Genres
George teaches a range of genres and covers a variety of styles within his teaching.

First Lesson
George’s approach is one of understanding the students’ needs and desires; some people will need structured lesson plans dividing the lesson up into clear and easy-to-navigate paths, and others require slightly more freedom and space to find their way through a task/material. It is so important to George that the student feels empowered through making creative decisions of his or her own. This can prove incredibly rewarding and hence encouraging towards further progress. Lessons are fun, creative and encouraging!

Beginners

Beginning an instrument is exciting hence first lessons with George are kept light and engaging. Expect some time playing games, working on technique and time discovering an individuals desired outcome from the lessons.

No learning materials are needed for the first lesson (however suggested materials will be given for follow up lessons). Just bring a pair of sticks!
