Sam is a full-time musician, guitar and songwriting teacher. He's a singer and guitarist in an Indie Rock band and performs live regularly! Sam is skilled, reliable, patient, friendly and encouraging; he has a passion for music and teaching that is dedicated to achieving results with his students. Sam has studied the guitar and music for 15 years, and he has a Bachelor's Degree in Music Technology & a Professional Diploma in Guitar and Popular Music.

Teaching in Guitar
If you have goals you want to achieve, skills you want to learn, or are just starting out, Sam can help you with lessons specific to your aims and ability! He uses strategies to help you achieve your goals and progress with a little work and guidance, whilst also enjoying learning to play the guitar!

Sam gives lessons on:
. Chords, scales and arpeggios, and how and when to use them
. Rhythm and lead playing
. Skills to improvise/jam over tracks
. Learning songs, both of your choice and suggested
. Songwriting techniques, music theory, advice and assistance with material
Overall this is designed to improve your technique, ability, knowledge, listening skills and make you a better guitar player and have fun whilst doing so! All abilities and ages welcome.

Genre
Sam teaches most Pop and Rock music including Rock and all of its subgenres, Blues, Soul, Funk, Rnb, Reggae and Jazz. Sam specialises in Rock and Blues based music, especially Alternative and Indie styles.

First Lesson
The first lesson is spent getting to know the student and building up a rapport, trying to ascertain what level and ability they hold as well as what goals they have and are trying to achieve. From this point, Sam begins planning a structure of teaching and learning based on their individual needs.

Beginners
Beginners are always welcome and encouraged to get in touch. They are also welcome to use a guitar if they do not yet own one, and Sam is happy to provide advice when it comes to instrument purchase!
